Optimization of the temporal shape of laser pulses for ablation (English)
0 references
This paper is devoted to the modeling, simulation, and optimization of some material ablation processes using an industrial laser platform. A general numerical procedure to optimize the temporal shape of such laser pulses, in order to obtain the maximal ablation depth for silicon is presented. In order to determine the ablation depth of such pulses a one-dimensional Stefan-like equation is used. Numerically, a semi-implicit stable finite difference scheme is derived to accurately solve Stefan equation. Some numerical experiments are presented.
