The authors consider \(\varphi _{1},\varphi _{2}\) and \(\varphi _{3}\) of nearly parallel \(G_{2}\) structures on a \(7\)-dimensional \(3\)-Sasakian manifold defined in [\textit{I. Agricola} and \textit{T. Friedrich}, J. Geom. Phys. 60, No. 2, 326--332 (2010; Zbl 1188.53041)]. They deform \(\varphi _{1},\varphi _{2}\) and \(\varphi _{3}\) by characteristic vector fields \(\xi _{1},\xi _{2}\) and \(\xi _{3}\). Then they obtain new \(G_{2}\) structures.
