A class of Fibonacci type groups and semigroups is defined and spherical presentations for Fibonacci type groups are established to show that many of these groups are infinite. Then combining Adian graph techniques and the classification of finite Fibonacci semigroups, similar result for Fibonacci type semigroups is obtained.
