The Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation and universality class (English)

This survey paper reports some progress on solving the KPZ (Kardar-Parisi-Zhang) equation. For a class of stochastic KPZ equations, the Hopf-Cole solution is described by rescalings from some discrete models, which include the weakly asymmetric limit of simple exclusion and the intermediate disorder limit of directed polymers in random environments. Concrete results with the main ideas of the proofs are presented.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1279.00048].
