Descartes and the first Cartesians (English)

To the extent that this book concerns Descartes, it deals with Descartes the philosopher, not Descartes the mathematician. Actually, nearly a third of the book is devoted to a chapter on 17th-century philosophical textbooks of the late Scholastics. The author next compares and contrasts Descartes' writings with those of the Scholastics. Then follows an examination of texts by Cartesians such as Le Grand and Régis.
