Two new three-step higher-order iterative methods by modifying two third-order two-step methods for solving nonlinear equations are proposed. A convergence analysis of both methods is established. This enhances the efficiency indices of the new methods from \(1.442\) to \(1.565\). Results of numerical examples are given.
