The authors consider transonic polytropic flow described by the compressible isentropic Euler-Poisson system in quazi-one-dimensional nozzles described by the area of its cross-section. Dynamic stability and existence of transonic shock solutions are proved. An application is described: propagation of electrons in semiconductors and plasma.
