The paper deals with an approximate cloaking problem for a \(3D\) Maxwell system that describes the scattering of electromagnetic waves in a homogeneous medium containing a permeable isotropic bounded obstacle with connected complement and with boundary coated to ensure cloaking. The problem is viewed as a control problem in which the surface conductivity of the boundary of obstacle is treated as a control. The author's approach is based on a reduction of the scattering problem to an equivalent boundary value problem on a large ball.
