In this paper, the authors continue the investigation started in Part I [Isr. J. Math. 213, 211--278 (2016; Zbl 1355.20011)] and finish the classification of the groups of even type, which are not of even characteristic. They use the results of Part I and consider the case when there is some 2-central involution \(z\) and a counterexample \(G\) to the main theorem such that \(C_G(z)\) possesses a standard subgroup.
