It was conjectured by \textit{Z. Fechner} and \textit{L. Székelyhidi} [``Sine and cosine equations on commutative hypergroups'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1510.02905}] that all sine functions on a compact hypergroup (in the sense of Dunkl, Jewett, and Spector) are identically zero. The author proves this conjecture for compact commutative hypergroups by making use of the corresponding Fourier analysis.
