The authors of this paper give a complete characterization of cosymplectic and \(\alpha\)-cosymplectic Lie algebras in terms of corresponding symplectic Lie algebras and suitable derivation on them. They give also several examples. Classification results are obtained in dimension five for cosymplectic, \(K\)-cosymplectic and coKähler Lie algebras.
