Generalizing a result of the second author [``Lusin approximation and horizontal curves in Carnot groups'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1412.2531}] the authors prove that particular Lie groups, namely Carnot groups \(\mathbb{G}\) of step 2, admit Lusin approximation for horizontal curves; this means that for every absolutely continuous horizontal curve \(\gamma: [0,1]\rightarrow \mathbb{G}\) and \(\varepsilon >0\) there is a \(C^1\) horizontal curve \(\Gamma: [0,1]\rightarrow \mathbb{G}\) such that \(\Gamma(t)=\gamma(t)\) and \(\Gamma'(t)=\gamma'(t)\) outside a set of measure at most \(\varepsilon\).
