Summary: We realize explicitly the well-known additive decomposition of the Hochschild cohomology ring of a group algebra at the chain level. As a result, we describe the cup product, the Batalin-Vilkovisky operator and the Lie bracket in the Hochschild cohomology ring of a group algebra.
