The author develops the theory of Berezin-Toeplitz operators on any compact symplectic prequantizable manifold from scratch, that is, in a direct way and without using any substantial result of microlocal analysis as in the Boutet de Monvel-Guillemin theory. A comparison with the spin-c Dirac quantization is also included.
