The authors consider a nonlinear elliptic system of Liouville type. This comprises of partial differential equations on a regular bounded domain in the plane, subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions. The right hand side involves a parameter. An existence theorem on solutions of the given equation with singular limits as the parameter tends to zero, is proved. Schauder's fixed point theorem is used. A nonlinear domain decomposition method is employed in the discussion.
