Mathematical models as artefacts for research: Felix Klein and the case of Kummer surfaces (Q353320)

This may conjure up images of creations intended for classroom use and now ensconced in old mathematics department display cases. But Rowe relates the history of models that were developed for research purposes in the 1800s. Prominent mathematicians like Klein, Kummer, Plücker, and Clebsch designed such objects, supervised their construction, and presented them at scientific meetings.
