Random parking (also known as random sequential adsorption) refers to a model in which open balls of a given radius arrive sequentially and uniformly at random in a cube, subject to non-overlap until saturation occurs. One first generalizes the model to local subadditive functions, obtaining so a general result on the averaged density of packed balls, which is then applied to classical Euclidean optimization problems on the random parking measure. Finally, one applies this study to a model for rubber previously proposed by one of the authors.
