The article under review concerns PF-rings, that is commutative rings over which every principal ideal is flat. The authors give several characterizations of this property, which illustrate its relationship to similar conditions in the literature. They then examine how the PF-property behaves with respect to certain change of rings operations, including the amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal. Their results are used to provide new examples of rings having the PF-property.
