The XXX Heisenberg spin chain with five sites and periodic boundary conditions, i.e. the so-called Heisenberg pentagon, is considered. The Galois group of the Bethe number field over the rationals is determined. The Galois group is considered as the group of arithmetic symmetries of the Bethe parameters.
