The authors prove that gravitational collapse is impossible. They do this within a theory of gravitation which is different from Einstein's. The key idea is that the gravitational field does not change the geometry, but is only a field within a pre-scribed fixed geometry, the Minkowski space. Similar ideas are discussed for the Schwarzschild solution.
