The authors establish results which can be seen as quantum extensions of the discrete Maassen-Uffink inequality, which relates the `classical' entropies of a quantum density matrix in two different bases by providing a a lower bound for their sum. The main idea is to make use of the original proof structure of the Lieb-Ruskai strong subadditivity theorem for the von Neumann entropy. The main theorems are stated in terms of the classical/quantum conditional entropy corresponding to a classical measurement and a given density matrix. Continuous version of the results are discussed.
