Largely inspired by the work of \textit{L. Cădariu} and \textit{V. Radu} [Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2009, Article ID 589143, 18 p. (2009; Zbl 1187.39033)], the authors use the fixed point method to obtain the Hyers-Ulam stability of the Cauchy additive functional inequality and of the Cauchy-Jensen additive functional inequality in random normed spaces.
