From the abstract: It is well known that in the class of separable spaces both normality and countable paracompactness imply certain constraints on the sizes of closed discrete subsets. In this paper we show that analogous constraints hold for generalizations of such properties. We also discuss the limitations one has to deal with when trying to find similar constraints for separable, countably metacompact spaces.
