The authors analyze the local minimizers (in the topology of transport distances) of the interaction energy associated with a repulsive-attractive potential. Their original results include: (1) a relation between the dimensionality of the support of local minimizers and the repulsive strength of the potential at the origin, (2) a lower bound on the Hausdorff dimension, (3) a mild repulsion condition, and (4) an Euler-Lagrange approach.
