The paper concerns the so-called no dice conjecture, namely, the problem to make a construction of deterministic sequences converging to the least squares mean without any probabilistic arguments. Recently, \textit{J. Holbrook} [J. Ramanujan Math. Soc. 27, No. 4, 509--521 (2012; Zbl 1325.47039)] gave an affirmative answer to the conjecture in the space of positive definite matrices. In the present paper, the authors establish the no dice theorem on general symmetric cones.
