In this paper, a unified duality scheme is proposed for constrained extremum problems by applying image space analysis. Furthermore, it is shown that the existence of a regular weak separation in the image space is necessary and sufficient for the zero duality gap property. Finally, some equivalent conditions are considered for the zero duality gap property.
