The authors investigate the solvability of a semilinear elliptic boundary value problem under a nonhomogeneous Neumann boundary condition and depending on a positive parameter in the boundary condition. The approach is variational developing a careful analysis of the Palais-Smale sequences. The critical case is treated too. The existence of two nontrivial solutions is obtained provided the parameter is sufficiently small.
