The author considers the shock problem for the 2D unsteady non-isentropic compressible Euler flow in a rectangular duct. The flow is supersonic at the entry and subsonic at the exit. The problem is formulated as a non-classical initial-boundary problem by fixing the free boundary using change of variables. Local existence, uniqueness, and stability of the shock waves is proved under certain conditions.
