The present paper extends previous author's results [Appl. Math., Praha 52, No. 2, 171--183 (2007; Zbl 1164.34457)] to the inhomogeneous equation \(u(t)=Au(t)+f(t)\) with the initial condition \(u(0) = \eta \in X\), where \(A\) is an infinitesimal generator of a continuous semigroup of operators \(U(t)\), \(t \in [0,T]\), and the function \(f:=[0,T] \rightarrow X\) is continuous in a complex Banach space \(X\). In this nonhomogeneous case the author does not construct the approximations of the solution directly from a rational function \(F\) approximating the exponential but he uses the so-called selfstarting block method. A convergence theorem for the approximation is proved.
