If \(\mathcal C\) is a small category, then a right \(\mathcal C\)-module is a contravariant functor from \(\mathcal C\) into abelian groups. The paper introduces an approach for level-\(r\) cohomology theory for \(\mathcal C\)-modules for each integer \(r\). Applications to the homotopy classification of braided and symmetric \(\mathcal C\)-fibred categorical groups and their homomorphisms are given.
