The authors consider the existence of positive solutions to a boundary value problem for differential equations of fractional order \(1<\alpha\leq2\). Different from other works, this BVP is investigated under the assumption that the first order derivative is involved in the nonlinear term explicitly. By means of Schauder's fixed point theorem and an extension of Krasnosel'skii's fixed point theorem in a cone, some results on the existence of positive solution are obtained.
