The notion of base dimension-like function of the type \(\mathrm {ind}\) was introduced by [\textit{S. D. Iliadis}, Universal spaces and mappings. North-Holland Mathematics Studies 198. Amsterdam: Elsevier. (2005; Zbl 1072.54001)]. The authors obtain fundamental properties of this dimension-like function, which are known as subspace theorem, partition theorem, sum theorem and product theorem in classical dimension theory.
