Motivated by the rank-one modification of the real symmetric eigenvalue problems studied by \textit{X. Huang, Z. Bai} and \textit{Y. Su} [J. Comput. Math. 28, No. 2, 218--234 (2010; Zbl 1224.65093)], the authors investigate the Hermitian counterpart. They obtain some bounds on the smallest and largest eigenvalue and give some numerical examples to show that the bounds are good.
