The author determines the eigenvalue bounds for a nonsingular Hermitian matrix with a \(2\times 2\) block decomposition NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \left( \begin{matrix} A_{11} & A_{12} \\ A^*_{12} & A_{22} \\ \end{matrix} \right)\, , NEWLINE\]NEWLINE where \(A_{11}\) and \(A_{22}\) are both Hermitian and indefinite.
