Let \(S=k[x_1,\dots,x_n]\) be the polynomial ring in \(n\) variables over a field \(k\) and \(I\) a weakly polymatroidal ideal in \(S\). The author shows that Stanley's conjecture holds for \(S/I\). His proof uses the fact that the depth does not decrease under the elimination of \(x_1\).
