The authors consider invertibility questions for Banach algebras of infinite matrices defined in terms of a weight measuring the off-diagonal decay of the matrix entries. They consider a condition on sequences of weights which extends the notion of Gelfand-Raikov-Shilov (GRS) condition, and which also includes the special case considered by \textit{S. Jaffard} [Ann. Inst. Henri Poincaré, Anal. Non Linéaire 7, No. 5, 461--476 (1990; Zbl 0722.15004)]. Finally, they consider the behavior of inverses of pseudo-differential operators whose Weyl symbols belong to weighted modulation spaces with weights not satisfying the GRS condition.
