Continuing the work of a previous paper [the first author et al., Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 216, No. 1, 313--357 (2015; Zbl 1316.35276)], the authors study Hill-type trace formula and Krein-type trace formula for first order ODE which are not necessarily self-adjoint differential operators (like in the previous work, where they studied Hamiltonian systems). In particular they focus on \(S\)-periodic orbits of the first order ODEs.
