This note is dedicated to barrier principles for the Ricci flow. More precisely, if \((g_t)_t\) is a family of metrics evolving by the Ricci flow then the authors obtain conditions that ensure that the evolving metrics \(g_t\) stay above some family of comparison metrics. This is not a trivial problem since the Ricci flow is a weakly parabolic system.
