Existence of compatible systems of lisse sheaves on arithmetic schemes (Q506176)

In this article, the author deals with a conjecture of \textit{P. Deligne} [Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 52, 137--252 (1980; Zbl 0456.14014)] concerning the embedding of a single lisse \(\overline{\mathbb Q}_{\ell}\)-sheaf into a compatible system of lisse sheaves. In order to reach this goal, the author constructs a compatible system of lisse sheaves on a scheme from those on curves. This extends earlier work of \textit{V. Drinfeld} [Mosc. Math. J. 12, No. 3, 515--542 (2012; Zbl 1271.14028)], \textit{L. Lafforgue} [Invent. Math. 147, No. 1, 1--241 (2002; Zbl 1038.11075)] and Barnet-Lamb, Gee, Geraghty, and Taylor [\textit{T. Barnet-Lamb} et al., Ann. Math. (2) 179, No. 2, 501--609 (2014; Zbl 1310.11060)].
