The authors present a stochastic predator-prey Lotka-Volterra model in which the logistic growth under regime switching is density-dependent. Sufficient conditions are found for persistence in mean and extinction of the given population stochastic system and the threshold between them is obtained. Both white and coloured noise are taken into account, and the importance of the Markov chain in contributing to the survival of the system is shown.
