In this paper, the authors show the confluence of the general Schlesinger systems (GSS) using the view point of twistor theory (see Theorem 3.5). This confluence theory is for a general situation of the confluences of linear systems associated with the Painlevé equations. As examples, the Painlevé cases are demonstrated in Section 4.
