The authors construct two nonconvex retracts of a real Banach space by nonnegative functionals defined on a cone of convex and concave types, with an example. Under (nonconvex) retract conditions, the fixed point index of a completely continuous operator on the sets \(D_1\cap D_2\) and \(D_1\cup D_2\) is computed, where \(D_1\) and \(D_2\) are bounded open sets in the cone. This can be used to show the existence of a positive fixed point in a more precise location.
