The paper introduces several types of methods of digitizing subspaces of Euclidean space into the corresponding digital topological spaces such as Khalimsky and Marcus Wyse (for short, \(K\)- and \(M\)-, respectively) topological spaces. Besides, it also uses the lower limit and the upper limit (\(L\)-, \(U\)-, for short) topology to digitize subspaces of Euclidean space into a digital image in the Rosenfeld approach. To do this, the paper develops four kinds of local rules associated with \(L\)-, \(U\)-, \(K\)- and \(M\)-digitization. Besides, the paper proves that \(L\)-, \(U\)- and \(K\)-digitization preserves connectedness of objects, whereas \(M\)-digitization has some limitations concerning this property. The approach can be helpful to study applied topology and computer science related to digitization theory.
