By using a generalized fixed point theorem, the paper studies the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability and Hyers-Ulam stability for the class of second differential equations \[ y''(x)+p(x)y'(x)+q(x)y(x)=F(y(x)). \] In addition, by giving a counter-example, the authors show that the differential equation \[ y'(x)=F(x,y(x)) \] does not have on an infinite interval the Hyers-Ulam stability.
