Para-Kähler Lie algebras \(G\) for which the Lagrangian subalgebras \(G^+\) and \(G^-\) are abelian subalgebras are studied. Several of these objects are given and an inductive description of them by means of the symplectic double extension method is shown. The curvatures of the para-Kähler metric are studied. Algebras with para-Kähler metric which is Einstein and non-Ricci-flat are characterized.
