In this paper, the authors focus on a specific Boolean network model -- the strong inhibition model. This model defines a natural map from the space of all possible topologies on the network to the space of all possible dynamics on the same network. It is proved that this map is neither one-to-one nor onto. The authors introduce the concepts of ``dormant vertices'' and ``redundant edges''. They are used to completely characterize those networks that are determined by their dynamics, and to determine when different networks have the same dynamics.
