For a compact Lie group \(K\), the author computes the abelianization of the Lie algebra: {\parindent6.5mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] of equivariant vector fields on a smooth \(K\)-manifold \(X\), and \item[(2)] of strata preserving smooth vector fields on the quotient space \(X/K\). \end{itemize}}
