The book is a short, clear and elementary introduction to the main ideas of Special Relativity and General Relativity. The primary target was an audience of well-trained high school students, interested in a course beyond the popular science expositions. The contents reveals the aim of the author, to cover both the classic theory and the modern history of the Relativity Theory: I. Special relativity; II. Minkowski Geometry; III. Non-Euclidean Geometry; IV. Gravity; V. General Relativity; VI. The Schwarzschild Solution; VII. Cosmology; VIII. Mathematics and Physics. The sophomore reader will find a special care for the physical flavour of the theory and, if enchanted, he will pursue the difficult mathematical road toward a deeper understanding of the results.
