Der amerikanische Philosoph \textit{Charles Sanders Peirce} (1839--1914), der Sohn des bekannten amerikanischen Mathematikers \textit{Benjamin Peirce}, hat sich in seinen Arbeiten unter anderm mit mathematischer Logik, im Anschluß an \textit{Schröder} und \textit{Boole}, beschäftigt. Der vorliegende erste Band seiner gesammelten Abhandlungen enthält auch Arbeiten über diesen Gegenstand.
