    Indem das Licht als \textit{Maxwell}sche Welle dargestellt wird, kann seine Energie als \textit{Maxwell}sche Feldenergie aufgefaßt werden, welche gemäß der \textit{Einstein}schen Gravitationswellenmethode die \(g_{\mu\nu}\) zu berechnen gestattet. Es wird nun die Wechselwirkung eines Lichtstrahls von endlicher Länge mit einem Probepartikelchen berechnet. Dies ist von Bedeutung für die Frage nach der Wechselwirkung von Materie und Strahlung.
